I was always a huge fan of bodybuilding and fitness, and after lifting weights for years as a hobby, I wanted to see what I could do on stage. It was something I always wanted to do.

I was referred to Derek Natcher from a friend and he went on to explain what TEAM Warrior Within was all about. Derek kept it simple and told me exactly what to do, with update pictures, a daily spreadsheet and constant communication. He answered any of my questions in an extremely timely manner. Derek got me in the best shape I’ve ever been in.

The hardest part about prepping for my first show was finding balance between working long hours, prepping my food, training, and a relationship. My motivation through my prep was just wanting to be better than I used to be. I set a goal and was going to do anything I had to do to accomplish it.

My advice to anyone wanting to start competing would be to try to have fun and enjoy the learning experience, even when the times get rough. If you don’t have a good knowledge base, hiring a coach can save you a lot of time wasted. It certainly did for me.

One thing I learned about myself through competing is that I can accomplish anything I put my mind to.

I’d like to thank my coach Derek Natcher and my girlfriend Destiny for training with me and helping me prep my meals. Moving forward my plans are to work with Derek and put on more muscle and bring a better package to the stage next time. If I can bring up some weaker body parts, I plan to try the classic physique division.
