HATRED OF THE GOOD FOR BEING THE GOOD

I laughed at the Planet Fitness commercials. And then I remember Rand’s warning: “Kill by laughter. Laughter is an instrument of human joy. Learn to use it as a weapon of destruction. Turn it into a sneer.”

TAKE MY PAIN

By the end of the first week, I was a physical wreck, having a difficult time placing one foot in front of the other, tying my shoes, getting dressed, walking up and down stairs. I thought of the countless clients I have nearly crippled with extreme leg workouts, pushing their bodies to the brink before bringing them back. I felt momentary empathy.

Do You Know Heaven?

Have you found that which makes you cry? That which makes you soar? That which is not open to laughter or jokes, but is held as the sacred, the not-to-be-touched, the private and personal? Have you seen the world from the eyes of an angel, your heart overflowing with love and joy? Have you found your secret and stowed it away in an airtight box? Protected from daylight and the grubby fingers of those who would soil it and tear it down if given the chance?

THAT MOMENT

The real test is in that moment, when you decide to prove what you’re made of. The real test is in that moment, when you decide to learn whether it’s your desire for success, or your fear of failure, that compels you.
