I registered for my first OCB Figure competition in the summer of 2012.  Not knowing what to expect or even how to begin to prep, I made a few phone calls and was referred to David (David Johnston Training) by a regional food supplier.  My first impression of David was that he was going to crush me with just one look – he’s a big dude!  But after spending just a few minutes with him, I soon realized he cared deeply for his clients.  Taking me under his wing and giving me a detailed meal plan, I went to work in the gym and in the kitchen.  He did not let me slack.  I got a few butt chewin’s, but I admit, I deserved them.  Competing is definitely an eye opener.  You find out what you are made of.  Not only did David provide a detailed meal plan, he helped me to stay focused on my goal. But the buck didn’t stop with just the meal plan, his lovely wife, Nikki, met with me on Sundays and showed me how to pose.  If you don’t know how to pose, don’t waste your time stepping on stage!

Not only did I reach my goal of walking on stage, but I won 1st place in all three Figure divisions, won Overall in all three, AND walked away with my Pro card.  AND THAT WAS MY FIRST SHOW!  Thanks David and Nikki for your guidance, your motivation, and the on-going love and support.
